PLEASE NOTE: The front of the hotel will have scaffolding installed from October 7th for 1 month while new windows are fitted to all Seaview rooms, and the exterior decorated. This will only affect Seaview rooms, including the Suite and Seaview Doubles and Twin rooms, where the view may be impacted. The rear-facing rooms will not be affected. Our apologies, but we will keep disruption to a minimum during this time.

What was the highlight of The Empress Hotel
A comfortable and spacious room with a wide array of satalite tv channels. A shame about the noise from other rooms
The hotel was very clean and well kept. The bed was comfortable but not as comfortable as some hotel beds we’ve stayed in recently. The large screen TV with Sky Sports and BT sports was incredible for watching football in your room. The free all you can eat breakfasts were amazing and filled us up nicely for the days we were there. The room had a radiator you could turn on and produced good heat for the October evenings.
The walls were very thin and we could hear other guests moving out very early in the morning. The doors made a considerably loud bang when closed so woke us up very early. We could also hear a guest walking around their room upstairs which was disconcerting especially early in the morning.

Request the penthouse room for a memorable stay.
Location and staff were excellent. We had a super view from the top floor. The pub was pleasant.
The pillows were awful and the heaters were not working properly. The furniture was slightly soiled and dated.

Beautiful location with lovely bar and restaurant on premises. Not need to go anywhere else.
This was a lovely property. Situated across from the water with lovely views out to the ocean. Close to town and walking distances to coffee shops and restaurants. The property had a bar and restaurant. Both nights we stayed in the bar area for drinks and to listen to the piano player. The first night we had dinner from the bar menu and it was delicious. I would stay here again.
The only thing I think the rooms need are a bar fridge. The beds were not that comfortable a little on the hard side but overall they were clean.
